Profire Energy Announces New Flare-Ignition System for Combustors and Open-Flare Applications

New PF1300 Provides Reliable Ignition for Pilot Flames at Oil & Gas Sites

LINDON, Utah, July 16, 2012 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Profire Energy, Inc. (OTCBB:PFIE), which manufacturers, installs and services burner management systems for the oil and gas industry, today announced the release of a new flare-ignition system (FIS) designed for open-flare and combustor (incinerator) applications. The system monitors the pilot flame and provides spark when the flame has been extinguished, a need many oil and gas customers are looking to fill.

"The release of the PF1300 flare ignition system represents Profire's long-standing commitment to understand—and respond to—our customers' needs," said Andrew Limpert, chief financial officer of Profire Energy. "The PF1300 provides a simple option for many of our customers who need only a basic system to monitor and re-ignite the pilot flame in open-flare and combustor applications."

The PF1300 uses spark and flame-detection technology—the same technology found on the company's more-sophisticated 2100 model—to monitor flame presence and provide spark. However, the 1300 does not control valves or manage the temperature of the vessel's combustion.

The PF1300 FIS is designed to:

  • Detect and relay the status of the pilot flame.
  • Automatically reignite the pilot, according to parameters set by the user (e.g. a continuous-spark option can be used).
  • Use minimal amounts of power to operate.
  • Operate via solar-powered panel (optional).

The system is already installed on select sites in the United States and Canada, and can be purchased by contacting a Profire Energy representative. To learn more about the PF1300 or other Profire Energy products, please visit www.profireenergy.com.
